2015 - The year to Engage!

Image
Hey there!  You, don't you know that God has something in store for us that is world-changing in its scope! If we fully grasp what God is calling us to, we will be filled with more purpose, power, and passion than we have ever achieved before….But we must Engage ! Every single thing we have experienced in our past was meant to be. (Deep Breath) And every experience in our past has brought us to this time and this place. It is in this place we find our resumes and biographies have gathered dust and our accomplishments are only past experiences and memories.  NOW …is the time to recognize that moving forward, walking into our next, receiving the greater isn’t about something we are to do, but it’s about ‘the someone’ we were destined to BECOME!       2014 for many was a hard year, a lonely year, a pressing year, a strengthening year and yes a painful year. But God!   Yet He always has a purpose for every pain.  So we dare not get rid ...

Living in my NOW

Image
More and more we are learning who we are.  Not so much in the self-conscious descriptions of our youth or the labels of our early adult years, but more in the way we are simply at peace with ourselves.    Is this the fullness of time?  The set time?  The appointed time?  The time of life?  Or maybe we should just embrace all of these times and call it “Now” .  In “Now” it is where we are to take stock of our life and we realize how much we have changed. We pick it up, examine it then we realize…we are softer, gentler, wiser, and calmer than before. In our "Now" we are becoming more fully and completely who we were created to be! We have now moved from “successes to significance” . I believe it is in our "Now" , God wants to redeem all of the broken heels, chipped nails, dead-end jobs, broken marriages, less-than perfect children, bad perms. He needed us to get those things out of the way. Yes, He was with us back then, but He re...

It's still my season of Jubilee!

Image
On this 8th month (New Beginnings) on this 12th day (Divine Order) I enter the 3rd (Perfection) anniversary, in my 50th year (Jubilee)! ******************************* Now, in my 50’s I no longer ask “ what do I want to do when I grow up” … I haven’t decided to grow up yet!  But I can tell you I am much closer to it now than I ever was in my 20's, 30's, or 40's and there's a whole world waiting for me to discover.           The first half of my life was a whirl of activity.  There never seemed to be “enough”!  Enough time, enough money, enough…!  I marvel at all the things I felt I HAD to do.   Now I ask, where was I in a hurry to go? And there was all that noise back then, and there’s so much silence now.  Yet in this silence, I hear God calling me to Himself.  He has waited patiently as I raised my children, built my resumes, and formed the church committees…yes all the noise.    ...

Wounded Woman Warriors

Image
My favorite action movie of all time is ‘Rambo 1 st Blood’ .   Rambo was some kind of warrior!  One that they had never encountered before.   What I remembered the most, this warrior was in the fight of his life, not because he decided he had an enemy, but they decided “he” was their enemy! He became wounded so many times during this fight, yet he could only stop long enough to stitch up his own wounds.   Far from being healed,  he knew he had to find a safe place to stitched himself up long enough to fight another day! Women, once a month we have a experience be it moderate or severe how to physically and emotionally “endure”, “manage” or "ignore" PAIN. It is just how we are created. "Wounded Women Warriors” , I must say there is a time we must come in from the battle.  Not just to stitch up your wounds, but it is time to really heal.     Why is this so critical?  Because many of us are in active ministries, vocations or leading...

Happy New Year - Happy New You!

Quiet Inner Confidence Throughout my life I felt like people were always trying to hold me back! But in actuality it was "I" that held me back.    Some did not understand the what and whys of my actions, so they judged me unfairly.  Well, often I did not understand my own actions, so the added criticism and judgments of others made running away, giving up, sitting down so tempting.  Yet there was actually one thing that kept me moving forward....there was BIG on the inside of me!  So sitting down...running away...giving up was not an option.   I held on to my Quiet Inner Confidence. This quiet inner confidence has taken me through some of the hardest of times in my life!  Yet, it has been my q uiet inner confidence that has kept others...(and at times even myself) off balance.  How does she keep getting up, bouncing back, moving forward?   It is in the k nowing that despite what is happening...

“Where are we heading?” Written by Barry Werner on October 22, 2012 Effective leaders are able to communicate values as well as vision to their team. Read Isaiah 30:1-5 . No leader can guarantee the future but every team member has the right to ask their leader “where are we heading” and “what are the methods we will use to get there.” Every responsible leader should have an answer concerning operational core values and the vision for this month and for the next 3 years. The people in Israel trusted their leaders to make good decisions for the future of the nation but the leaders in Israel ignored their history. Instead they looked away from God who had guided and protected them choosing rather to embrace Egypt as an ally and protector. Rest assured that over time there will be distress in any organization if Christian leaders do not seek God but choose to project into the future, set goals, anticipate opportunities and obstacles, and design strategies based solely on human w...

I ATE THE COOKIES!!!

Image
by Jill Briscoe I have a confession to make...I ate the cookies and felt diminished. (I'll explain more about that later.) Have you ever felt diminished? Do you ever feel small? Humiliated? Have you ever said: "I'm a Christian! How could I have acted that way, lost it that way, spoken that way, thought that way?" Of course, you can feel diminished not only because of what you say or think or what you don't say or think, but because of whatothers say or think. When people count you of little importance or worth, you can't help but feel diminished, even if you know a lot or all of it is untrue. That feels horrible. The dictionary defines diminishing as "to make smaller or that which reduces or makes of lesser degree," as opposed to being enlarged and growing bigger and better and of more value. People can diminish you. Life can diminish you. You can diminish yourself if you listen to negative messages. The devil himself is the author of diminish...
